After using it I am even more impressed! It has 12 built in standard programs, (not counting the heart rate programs or the custom user programs you can set up), but what is so neat is how you can change the time, level and distance of each program before you even start it, which makes it seem like you have literally hundreds of programs. On all of my other fitness equipment once you master a program you move on to the next, only being able to over-ride as needed while running the program.I guess I should back up here a bit, the assembly was also very easy, no problems, all parts were there and it was packaged nicely so nothing was damaged.
